4th of July

Fourth of July, Independence Day, or July Fourth, U.S. holiday, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Celebration of it began during the American Revolution. It has been the most important patriotic holiday ever since. Traditionally it has been celebrated with the firing of guns and fireworks, parades, open-air meetings, and patriotic speeches. Today local ordinances prevent much of the former display of fireworks and use of firearms.

I can't stop lamenting on time flying past expeditiously. Just a week ago, I was still comforted in the arms of Bangkok and feeling so tireless even when my legs have walked non-stop for the whole day. Today, my lethargy level was really up to the max and doing every single thing just felt meaningless and intention-less. It felt like doom day for me. Argh!

I met Yunwei and Yiwen for dinner and they passed me presents from Nepal, including those from the Kopan Nuns. So nice! But on their letters to me, they commented I have put on weight. Of course man! The last time they saw me in Nepal I was like the slimmest of all times, as a result of constant vigorous physical torture undergone in F&B industry. And I even did a 16 day fasting retreat when I was in Nepal. Hmm... the difference should be quite drastic?

It's cable-ski at Batam tomorrow! I tell you, this is tough sport and I really wonder if I can still withstand the cruel heat and discouraging tedious failed attempts. Well but I'm sort of looking forward to the sun and water. It should perk me up somehow, and I hope it will make my body ache like mad... perhaps this is what I need now.

Adios.
