Finally it's over...

I was contained with absolute gladness the instant the Teambuilding event came to an end.

Yes, the Teambuilding which only lasts for 8 hours but requires much much more time to prepare, liaise, coordinate and then executing it. Seriously, this is no mean feat. Phew.

At the end of this ordeal, I get to totally comprehend one thing and that is no matter how well an event is planned or carried out, you can't satisfy everyone. Honestly, sometimes I made myself feel elusive of some ugly truths which people have said or commented. But often, it's much more perturbed just to swallow them than to face it.

Right, face it. That's life, period. What is so harrowing about it that I have to bring into my life and feel so discreditable? I have to learn how to FACE IT. The only justice I can do to myself is to honour and believe that my puny effort did somehow pay off, and uh yes, managed to garner some appreciation as well.

I shall learn to take it easy from now on. I believe what I have experienced from this episode will serve as a very valuable lesson to take home and make me stronger than before.

20082008

20082008... idyllic date huh? I bet there are countless couples who have tied the knot today.

Will I be one of those in the next 20092009, 20102010, 20112011 or 20122012....?

It will be a 100 years later after these 4 dates to have such a phenomenon again.

Oh well, whatever. Ha.

Tuesday Medley

Today, it was one of the unprecedented mornings that this magnificent feeling suddenly overcame myself, as if it was spurring me on for some unknown confrontations ahead.

I felt absolutely great and confident as I strolled to the bus stop, inhaling every wisp of cool fresh air. There was this wholesome feel of tranquility that subdued me and it made me smile and walked as if I was bouncing. This shouldn't have been the case, as lethargy always drags me to the bus stop almost every morning.

And indeed, my day went almost perfectly well... and perfectly busy as usual. But that already had no impact. I managed to complete the tasks that were on my list since last Friday and wrote down another list of tasks to accomplish for tomorrow before I left for office.

I took on a 5km run in the evening, slowed down during the 3rd km but continued running despite the stitches acting up, completed in 39 mins and felt totally comforted.

The kinetic energy inside me seems to continue even now. It should diminish soon with the passing of the night. However, the apprehensive side of me doesn't want this energy to evaporate.

Will I still feel blissful tomorrow after a night's sleep? I wished for today's medley to replay in many days of my life.

Farewell

"Don't be dismayed at good-byes. A farewell is necessary before you can meet again. And meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."

It just gets busier...

When I left for office at 8.15pm just now, I turned to one of my colleagues and told him this.

"Can you imagine I'll be back here again in abt 12 hours time?"

I reached office at 8am this morning. Hence I've worked for 12 hours today.

And then you got it, that already makes up 24 hours of a day. It just makes me feel more and more of owning at least 30 hours a day. Yes, 30 hours should be nice.

I've been really pre-occupied with the department's teambuilding event scheduled on 22/8 and it's a constant distraction to work focus... a sudden awaken realisation when I was looking through my portfolio. I'm really hoping to complete tomorrow!!

"It is difficult for sorrow to intrude on a busy life." - unknown

Really? I want to get busier then...

Rejoicing National Day in St James!

We headed patriotically to St James and counted down to our nation's birthday!

Nah,it was just an excuse to booze and dance the night away. Ha! It was actually an impromptu arrangement but the attendance turned out fine anyway. Cool!

Art of Love

Extracts of significance for your digestion. :)

Some people believe that love is a spontaneous emotion that springs forth from each of us to unfailingly soothe and heal. While love does have that potential, it is a delicate art that requires constant nurturing, understanding, and dedication to truly blossom.

For love is not limited to its romantic sense. The art of love, if perfected, enables us to love all of life. Romantic love can only thrive if it's supported by this kind of all-embracing, all-encompassing love. For example, love and respect for oneself, love for preservation rather than destruction and waste, love for nature and creation, love for fellow human beings, and a deeper appreciation of the people who love us.

We human beings have the tendency to hold on. We want to hold on to our youth, we want to hold on to our possessions, and we want to hold on to the people we love. But love between two people has a life of its own, a freedom that no one can chain down. We must allow this love to arise and descend freely. When people come into our lives, we should accept and cherish them while they're with us. When it's time for them to go, let them go. Do not turn the departure into an experience of rejection, loss, or abandonment. The person's leaving has got nothing to do with you. Practise doing this with yourself as well. Do not let your love be unnecessarily shackled. When we allow love to ebb and flow naturally, we love more freely and truly.

Don't hate

It feels somewhat woeful to see how hatred, abhorrence and grudges towards someone can make someone oblivious to little benevolence and magnanimity.

Life is better with more peace and less wars, more friends and less foes. Isn't it?

"The hatred you're carrying is a love coal in your heart - far more damaging to yourself than to them." - Lawana Blackwell

I'm smitten with TCC's Tiramisu. Yummy!

The Dunman ladies!

It was indeed gratifying to be able to gather and come together to catch up after so many years of separation! It's always a pleasure to share and listen how everyone is doing in their life -career, love, marriage and lots more juicy news. Hee. I love the ladies!
