Jan's last day

It has been a polished celebratory month so far.

I'll be going CWL's place for CNY visiting with fella colleagues and then dinner gathering with Dan's gang, just nice to round up the month of Jan.

I'm sure today's going to be an awesome day and I look forward to it. :)

between humans

I can't help but feel that tinge of despondence when CL left. It's her last day of work today. A piece of news I only received... today.

CL and I had only started to communicate more last year and despite her somewhat aloof attitude at times, I feel that she's a lady who can furnish great company and share meaningful topics of life together. We are not exactly close but I know that the connection is there, somehow.

3 months ago, something had happened to CL and she has been away for medical leave till now. I was consciously ignorant of what actually happened to her and when I finally realized the lack of concern for her, I felt absolutely reproachful. Till now, I still lament over it. The worst is not knowing what adversities she's facing in life and for whatever she's gripping to, I hope she's not alone by herself.

Today, she spoke to me after 3 months. Yes, she's back but she's leaving again, for good. However, I was gleefully contented that I still deserved the short conversation I'd with her. It felt marvellous. I even sent an sms to her after she left and she has agreed on the dinner appointment I've initiated.

I'd grasped that it is that important to cherish any kinds of relationship you come across in your life. An acquaintance may end up as your saviour one day. Given the vulnerable nature of humans, we should learn to open up to people we love, establish mutual understanding and respect and lastly, apportion our happiness and bliss to them who deserved it.

I hope the friendship with CL will not fade off with time. She has made me appreciate humans more for being who they are.

chinatown

Chinatown is always filled with warmth, vibrant lightings, curious shoppers and festive food during CNY season. I like it. :)

The OJ wedding

OJ stands for Oliver & Joyce, the enviable couple who walked down the wedding isle on 3/1 at Shang-ri-la!

That day...

Brewerkz with the YWs

I haven't been to Clarke Quay in broad daylight for ages. And actually, I prefer its tranquil side. :)

It's happy hour between 12-3pm in Brewerkz and the beer is ridiculously cheap! Like $3.25 for a mug or something? Food is great, price is albeit steep....

This plate of buffalo wings costs $15.99?!! Urm.. you know what I mean.

Lindt Lindor Swiss chocolates from Yunwei and Yiwen. Nice!

Check out Yunwei's calf muscles in her chic boot-heels bought from Hong Kong. Hee hee.

I can smell the weekend...

Dan & I had our usual dosage of Japanese food for dinner @ Fish Mart Sakuraya in Parkway Parade today. Different dining experience but superb quality of food!

I must really compliment the tofu salad we had. Looks totally plain initially but goes extraordinary well with the peanut kinda sauce and the fragrance just spreads across your tongue so amazingly. Try it!

I can't resist earrings from Diva... again!
I feel hopeful today. Afterall, it's the first day of work for 2009 despite it falling on a Friday and that it was after a holiday. I knew there were never ending work waiting for me. I knew the train's gonna be packed like sardines all over again due to first day of school. But I'm glad I still feel hopeful.

I'm looking forward to this weekend as I'm going to attend my first wedding of 2009 tomorrow. Congrats to Joyce! A gorgeous lady whom I knew 9 years ago in UOB where we were both doing part time after A levels. Oh and I must mention that she is the referral of my current job as well!

Meeting the twin YWs (Yiwen and Yunwei) on Sunday for a nice catch up session. Yay.

I'm going to office tomorrow. Yes don't be surprised. I have tons of accounts to review.

Sweetest dreams!

1/1/09

I cajoled myself to go for a run this evening and glad that I did it, on a brand new first day of 2009.

Unfortunately, the mere 2.4km run couldn't make me feel any better when I thought of the amount of junk food I'd walloped for the past week. I know there is a cause for indulgence due to festivities. But I still feel reprehensible.

The sundown marathon set to be held on 30 May 09 seems to be beckoning me to join and push my limits again.
Should I? :/

Welcoming 2009...
