Alvin's matrimonial bliss @ Four Seasons Hotel

I attended Alvin's wedding at Four Seasons Hotel yesterday! Congrats dude!

The hotel has great ambience and all and I dig the overall setting and lightings of the hotel. But I must say the food was just mediocre. Hee.

It's a pity that Fiona could not make it for his wedding so I took some pictures for her viewing pleasure!

It is always heart-warming to see your friend tying the knot with his/her love one and entering into another phase of life together. I sincerely feel elated for Alvin. Congrats dude!

Dinner alone

Guess what I packed home for dinner? Souperlicious SOUP SPOON!

It's the first time I'm trying beef goulash. Hmm... not quite to my expectations but still good!

Hey, do try the tangy tomato with basil soup... My all-time favourite! Satisfying and healthy!

I simply love soups. All sorts! :)

Squabble with mum

I'm still incensed by the distasteful trifle I had with my mum just now.

Well I know it's a trivial matter. She took one of my bags and carried out without seeking my permission, and when I questioned her why she chose to take my bag out when she has so many herself, she just conveniently swept it off and defensively said she didn't think of it, adding on that I talk too much.

The point is, I'm not being petty and selfish here. That bag is not some branded bag or something, but it's basic respect to me. How would you like if somebody even your mum, takes your personal belonging or stuff to use without giving a hoot and behaves as if it's perfectly alright?

I can stomach a lot of nonsense from her but I can't swallow this 'taken for granted' kind of attitude.

Even when I told her as a matter of fact that she should ask my permission the next time if she wants to use my bag, she thought that I was making a big fuss out of it and chided me with disdain. Now who's making a big fuss? I'm not asking her to apologize but to be receptive to comments. Definitely I can let her use my stuffs but unless she displays respect in that sense.

Argh. I hate squabbles with mum. It just further portrays her misperception and ignorance in life in which I've pardoned her for almost the past decade. When will she be able to really perceive me from deep within?

Well, I guess no matter what happens, I still have to love her afterall. I should be. I ought to.

Dress from Estique

I bought a dress from Estique yesterday! I guess this will be the only reason that adds a slice of satisfaction and joy to this weekend. Ha!

Okay, no PMS today I promise, and no venting of frustrations on anyone, I hope. :)

Simple but elegant Estique dress!
Quite reasonably priced too! I only paid $19 as I'd $50 Robinson vouchers. Phew.

I'm going for a good run at East Coast Park later. Please bless me with fine weather!

A barren Saturday

Being the first Saturday of the year, today seemed to be sort of lacking of the usual weekend flavour. And it was further brought down by the wet and rainy weather. Sigh. what a indifferent Saturday to spend in town.

I don't know what's going on deep within me today but I just felt melancholic and vexed, without any specific reasons. I suppose this is PMS? I can't believe this is happening to me as it seldom does. Argh. I detest feeling this way and yet unable to exercise any control over it.

Well, maybe I just simply feel bored? I'm a person who needs constant stimulation mentally and emotionally. And I seemed to be losing all these stimulation to drive my life ahead. I always look forward to weekends but they are disappointing me more and more now.

This is not too positive an outlook for a start of the year. And I hope my future weekends won't be as bleak as today.

Things to look forward this month

It was kinda hard to come to terms that I've to start work today. Thank God I survived and even managed to burn off some calories in the gym and kickboxing class.

To minimise the agony into entering into office on the first working day of 2008, I thought of things to look forward to at least in this month alone. And hey, it does provides some remedy to my overall mental being!

I'm looking forward...
  • to attend Alvin's wedding on 11th
  • to watch Chestnuts on 23rd
  • to meet up with Meina (she's 5 months pregnant!) on 25th
  • to attend Jeff and Cindy's wedding on 27th
  • to celebrate Catherine's birthday
  • to celebrate both Shufen's and Xinyi's birthdays together
  • to finalise my Bangkok trip in March with my colleagues

Hmm... of course all the running sessions and kickboxing classes!

Impressive isn't it? It's only January and there're already so many activities on my agenda. Good! It's good to be occupied. Hee.

I do hope it will certainly be an eventful month filled with lots of memories and happiness.

Countdown Frenzy to 2008

I came back at 7am today feeling totally bleary and sluggish. But hey, it was all worth it for all the countdown fun and catching up we had at the chalet!

While we cheered to good health, love life, career and wealth, I think there's a hidden tinge of dolefulness in everyone of us while we celebrated another new chapter of a year. I gathered that no matter how astounding and smooth-sailing we wished 2008 will be, we know that there are more challenges and commitments coming our way. I just hope that we'll be able to take things in its stride and input our very best in whichever aspects of life we are responsible for.
Let's applause and welcome a brand new fruitful 2008 ahead! :)
