Metamorphosis

The following extract about metamorphosis is taken from the writtings of Parris Garnier. It's simply apt and beautifully true.

If misfortune doesn't break you, it fashions you into a better person. But this metamorphosis doesn't happen by chance. It takes a strong heart to struggle against elements that would see you destroy yourself in failure.

Very often, you'll encounter the temptation to hold on foolishly to the past. You might even begin to wonder if you would've been better off the way you were. You might occasionally let down your guard, and allow grief and resentment to sway you towards self-destructive behaviour. And you will face many difficulties that may make you feel that you will never be able to experience the sweetness of life again.

But it is during these moments of the greatest peril which present the greatest opportunities. For as much as a powerful wind can throw you off your course, so can you spread your wings and ride it to greater heights.
